Nachwuchsförderung
An der Medizinischen Fakultät können Sie sich auf verschiedene Formate akademischer Nachwuchsförderung bewerben. Dazu gehören ein Spezialprogramm im Bereich klinischer Forschung, Promotionsstipendien und Forschungsförderung. Darüber hinaus bietet die Universität Basel weitere Förderungsmöglichkeiten an, über die Sie sich hier informieren können.
With this initiative, the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel aims to support academically driven young physicians that have completed their MD or MD PhD and at least 2 years of clinical education to engage full-time in a research project of choice. The scheme supports a one-year rotation (or 2 years at 0.5 FTE, if appropriate), enabling physicians to work in a research group at any of the academic Departments of the Medical Faculty.
Who can apply: Junior doctors (“AA” or “stv. OA”) up to 8 years after graduation (Staatsexamen), working exclusively clinically at the time of application in a service academically linked with the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel (USB, UKBB, UPK, UAFP, UZB, IRM, KSBL and KSA).
Salary: PostDoc salary-level according to SNSF standard.
The application should contain the following:
- Letter of motivation, detailing previous research activities, academic and clinical goals and a brief statement describing the reason for the choice of project/research group.
- Curriculum vitae
- Two-page summary of the project, clearly detailing the applicants own contribution / research question that will be addressed.
- Letter of commitment from the PI of the host group. This letter should also confirm that 25% of salary costs, as well as consumable/access cost etc., will be covered by funds available to the PI.
- Letter of commitment from the Head Physician of the clinical service the applicant is primarily affiliated with. This letter should contain details regarding career plans after the rotation and agreements made between the junior doctor and the clinical leadership.

Die Medizinische Fakultät hat ein Spezialprogramm zur Nachwuchsförderung in der klinischen Forschung eingerichtet, das Absolventinnen und Absolventen sowohl des Studiums Humanmedizin als auch der Naturwisssenschaften eine in der Schweiz einmalige Ausbildung zur Verfügung stellt.
